Fought in the legislature to maintain OHSU’s budget as cuts would have resulted in member jobs being lost

Walking the rainy picket line for striking workers of Unite Here in Chicago (on strike six years)- Spontaneous AFSCME member participation highlighted this issue and the international union gave a generouse donation to help the workers. Later Unite Here rejoined the AFL-CIO.

If you are voting in this runoff election, Jamie seems to be the way to go.  The other guy seems to be out of energy and fresh ideas and Jamie has lots of enthusiasm and has already made positive changes.

Jaimie, I admire and appreciate your dedication, experience, intelligence and point of view regarding the union and OHSU. Of course you have my vote!  Anne Tillinghast, Administrative Coordinator

Jaimie Sorenson is a dedicated, determined, and driven women with our membership’s goals and ideals in mind at all times.  She participates fully in any endeavor she undertakes.  She has proven her dedication to our union, our local, and all of its members for many years now.  I have known Jaimie is she started working for OHSU, I have also worked with her as a fellow representative of our local, and have enjoyed working with her since she came here to her present position.   I am a long term OSHU employee, 17+ years, and have been a union Steward as well as being one of the bargaining team for our last contract.   I know that Jaimie will be a fabulous President for our local and we would be very lucky to have her in the position.<?

I would like to take a moment to say few nice words about Jaimie, but do not know where to start.

It’s hard to describe a person like Jaimie in few sentences, but i will give it a try. Jaimie is young energetic person with positive attitude who is not afraid to take on big challenges. She is hard working and caring individual who always finds time for everything and everyone. In other words she is the perfect candidate JAIMIE FOR PRESIDENT...GO JAIMIE...YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU CAN DREAM OF...

                                                  Best wishes

Hi, my name is Shelley Villafanni and I whole heartily endorse Jaimie Sorenson for the position of AFSCME president.

I have worked for OHSU for 20 years and have never worked with someone as dedicated to supporting others rights as Jaimie.

She is a very intelligent and caring individual that always gives 100%.

My name is Melissa Harding and I have been an AFSCME member for four years.  I support Jaimie Sorenson in her campaign for becoming Local 328’s council president for the following reasons, she’s a honest, genuine, kind, knowledgeable person who continually goes above and beyond to assist her fellow local and council members, fights for the best working conditions for our members, she has always been a great to resource for me in any situation I have called upon her, she cares for our local and continues to diversify and assists our union in growing on a local and council level, she’s a great listener and communicator, her commitment to the Next Wave group has gotten many young members involved, and overall she is passionate about our local and moving forward in a positive direction.  I hope you join me in supporting our sister Jaimie in her path of serving as our next council president.

Hi, my name is Tami Hunsinger, and I want to express my complete support for Jaimie Sorenson to be voted as the President of our Local Union.

I’ve been with OHSU since 1999, and I don’t ever want to work anywhere else where there isn’t a Union supporting the staff.  Having the full support of the Local Union makes me feel safe and secure with my employment and moral support.  I like the reassurance that I am supported by the Union to stand up for me if and when there are any work related issues.

I’ve had the opportunity to work beside and be led by Jaimie, here at OHSU Richmond Clinic for several years, and feel 100% confident with her voice to represent us in our Local.  Jaimie has such a strong enthusiasm to step up to the plate when something needs to be done with decision makings and situations with the Union, I support her in any way I possibly can, within my own abilities.

Please vote for Jaimie, you’ll find her great leadership and organization abilities to your best advantage!

 Sincerely,

Tami Hunsinger, PAS Specialist

I genuinely believe that Jaimie has a clear vision for the direction that our local should be headed, and I share that vision. Jaimie has clearly demonstrated the ability to lead, to be articulate and she holds the same values I do. Her passion as a labor activist is obvious to anyone who knows her. As a member of this local, I strongly feel that Jaimie would not only be a strong voice for me, but she is the ideal person that I would want speaking for me. It’s for these reasons, that I solidly support Jaimie- and I urge you to vote for Jaimie Sorenson as president of Local 328.

Matt Hilton AFSCME local vice president

I think you would be an excellent candidate for president of our union.  I have been working for OHSU for six years and we’ve worked together in Transcription and now here at Richmond Clinic.  I get the sense of your dedication to our union and see untapped potential in your future.  It would be great if you ran and get to explore even more responsibility.  I have no doubt of whether you can do the job or not.  You speak on the behalf our union in a clear way and it is apparent to all you understand our rights and wants better than anyone I have ever seen.

 Thank you for your service.

 Regards,

 Cindy Heinichen, Admin Assitant

 Jaimie

I am so excited you are following your dream.  Knowing you as I do, I believe that with your enthusiasm, drive and skill set – you would be an amazing President of our local union.  I fully support you.

Jaimie,

I’m thrilled you are taking this leap. Our Union would reap a fantastic reward with you as President. With all your knowledge and understanding of the Union philosophy, communication, personal skills and your personal drive the Union could not ask for a better candidate.

Whatever type of support you would need I would be more than happy to help your campaign.  Good Luck you are a more than worthy candidate.
